A Three Rivers teen will appear in court this week on a charge of armed robbery.
St. Joseph County court officials said 17-year-old Austin Palmer has a preliminary examination scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph County District Court.
Palmer was arrested March 19 after he was confronted by security personnel at the Three Rivers Menard’s after allegedly attempting to leave the store without paying for an energy drink.
Investigators said Palmer allegedly displayed a handgun and fled the scene on foot. He was captured a short time later in a wooded area on the east side of U.S. 131.
He remains in jail on $200,000 bond. A preliminary exam conference took place last week.
