Douglas W. Miller, age 61, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday evening, March 24, 2018, at Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Centreville.
He was born Oct. 20, 1956, in Sturgis, a son of the late Roy and Violet (Hughes) Miller.
Doug resided most of his life in the Sturgis area.
He had been employed by the city of Sturgis in the parks and cemetery department.
Doug enjoyed listening to music.
He is survived by his sisters, Cheryl Jourdan, Jennie Hagen, Susan Cowan and Marjorie Crocker; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Eric Weber; three brothers; three half-sisters; and one half-brother.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at Sturgis Memorial Gardens in Sturgis. Chaplain Lon Bouma, of Southern Care Hospice, will officiate.
