Centreville to put millage request on ballot

Members of the Centreville Village Council agreed this week to put a request for two mills on the November ballot.

Funds from the millage request, if approved, would benefit the village’s fire department. Specifically, it would help cover the costs of fire trucks and a new truck bay.

Chief Chris Loker told the board a rescue truck recently had to be taken out of service. The department would like to get a one-ton pickup truck that would haul the majority of the rescue gear and that when the department gets a new engine, the pickup truck can be used as a grass rig.
