Dorothy Bundy, 74

Dorothy Arlene Bundy, age 74, of Middlebury, and a former longtime Sturgis resident, passed away Sunday morning, May 6, 2018, at her home.
She was born Aug. 4, 1943, in Jackson, a daughter of the late Hubert James and Laura Marie (Stanley) Kelley.
Dorothy resided most of her life in Sturgis until moving to Middlebury in 2015.
On Oct. 15, 1966, she married Jerry Lee Bundy at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis. He died Jan. 22, 2016.
She had been employed as a secretary at Kirsch Company in Sturgis for 27 years and also at Citizens State Bank in Sturgis for 6 ½ years.
Dorothy was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1961.
She enjoyed traveling to visit family and loved her animals and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Christopher (Lori) Bundy of Sturgis and Michael (Patricia) Bundy of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Jacob Charles Bundy, Rylie Mikel Bundy and Brendan Rex Bundy; a niece, Carolyn (John) Robson of North Carolina; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Francis Gooden; and two nieces, Barbara Thomas and Catherine Gooden.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The Rev. Father Evelio Ramirez of Holy Angels Catholic Church will officiate.
Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
