Glen Oaks names Foundation executive director

Glen Oaks Community College has tapped Vonda Marrow to serve as its executive director of the Glen Oaks Community College Foundation.

Marrow, who began the job March 5, will lead the college’s advancement initiatives. She will continue to build and retain relationships with alumni and friends of the college to establish funds, which will in turn provide scholarship assistance to students, support college programs, award grants and maintain facilities.

Jeffrey Gatton, president of the Glen Oaks Community College Foundation Board, said Marrow not only brings years of development experience, but she has an understanding of community colleges that will be an asset to the Foundation.

A Niles native, Marrow graduated from Southwestern Michigan College, Adrian College and Valparaiso University School of Law. She became a certified fundraising executive in 2006 and has used her training to raise donations for higher education, hospice, animal welfare and older adults.
