Kathryn M. “Katie” Hutson, age 86, of Constantine, died Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Life Care Center of LaGrange. She was born on March 10, 1932 in Centreville, a daughter of Noah A.E. and Sarah L. (Miller) Miller. In January of 1971, Katie married Jaime Hutson at Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine.
Katie was employed at DuMore Office in Elkhart during the 1960’s to 1973, and later worked with her husband at Jaime’s Upholstery from 1973 to 1983. She enjoyed gardening and quilting, operating a craft store next to the upholstery shop.
She married Simon Bontrager August of 1948 and 5 children are surviving: Vernon Bontrager, Elkhart, IN, Gary (Jill) Bontrager, LaOtto, IN, Diane Reese, Constantine, Kevin (Rita) Bontrager, Palmetto, FL, and Barbara (Gary) London, Camarillo, CA.
Surviving are her husband Jaime Hutson, Constantine, step children Jeffery Hutson, Three Rivers, Dale (Patricia) Hutson, Colon, and Joseph Hutson, Three Rivers, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers Ed Miller, Sturgis, Reuben (Sophia) Miller, Three Rivers, and Wilbur Miller, Gobles, sisters Lydia (Frank) Schragg, Centreville and Clara Grubert, Elkhart.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers.
Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Monday from 3 to 5 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, where a memorial service will be held at 5 pm Monday.
