Homeowner stops break-in

A homeowner successfully dispatched a group of people attempting to break into his residence last week in Branch County’s Sherwood Township.

State police said the incident occurred at 1 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of Mendon Road.

Multiple suspects attempted to force entry into the residence by breaking through the glass of a door and trying to unlock it.

The group fled from the scene after the homeowner scared them away.
