From its opening-night parade Thursday to the event-ending soap box derby Sunday, the 2018 Three Rivers Water Festival will go down in the books as a success.
Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Christy Trammell said the 62nd annual community celebration got off to a strong start with a parade that was as well-attended as she can remember.
She said Friday’s strength and fitness competition was a crowd favorite and helped promote this year’s theme “T.R. Gets Fit.” Trammell said Saturday night’s fireworks display drew more people than usual and the large crowd was treated to an unforgettable show.
Sunday’s soap box derby event added a fourth day to the annual community festival and drew 22 participants.
