Two people died earlier this week in an automobile accident in Cass County’s Pokagon Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said a PT Cruiser driven by 34-year-old Mishawaka resident Lee Ann Romita Sanez was heading south on M-51 Sunday when it crossed the center line and struck a northbound Chevy Impala. It was being driven by Phillip Seitenstich, 32, of Dowagiac.
David Conner, 31, of Niles, was a backseat passenger in the vehicle driven by Romita Sanez and died as a result of the collision.
Tracy Louise Seitenstich, 37, of Dowagiac, was a backseat passenger in the Impala and she, too, died as a result of injuries she suffered.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused Romita Sanez’s vehicle to leave its lane.
