COA Board supports member reappointment

Members of the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging Advisory Board agreed last week to move forward with a declaration of support to get board member Don Eaton reappointed to the board.

Wednesday’s vote came a day after the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners approved five of six reappointments to the COA board, excluding Eaton.

Tom Stoll, COA director, said he wanted the agency’s board members to discuss whether to move forward with a declaration of support for Eaton or keep the seat open.

COA board member Steve Boland expressed his desire to support Eaton. Board member Al Balog, who also serves on the county commission, agreed. Stoll concurred that Eaton has the best interest of the COA in mind.

COA board member Chuck Thompson asked if it would be beneficial for members to attend the next county commission meeting. Balog said emphatically it would.
