Janet Heign, 80

Janet Ellen Heign, age 80, of Constantine, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at her home. She was born July 26, 1937 in Constantine, a daughter of Leroy and Winifred Knisley. On April 17, 1938 she was baptized, and then confirmed on Palm Sunday 1951 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Constantine. Janet graduated from Constantine High School in 1955. On March 18, 1956 she married her high school sweetheart, Berne Heign, at Messiah Lutheran Church.

Janet enjoyed flower gardening, baking for her family, and being with her grandchildren. She was currently attending St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Centreville. She had also attended Messiah Lutheran Church and was previously a member of St Peter’s Lutheran Church in Three Rivers, where she had much joy participating in the choir, ladies aid, alter guild, and assisting with funeral luncheons. Janet had worked in the library at White Pigeon Schools for 22 years.

Surviving are her husband Berne Heign, Constantine; daughters Christine (Mike) Clipfell, Sturgis, Debra (Jay) Nihart, Constantine, Cathy (Wynn) Kryzske, Willis, MI, Judy Miltroka, Elkhart; grandchildren Lindsay (Chad) Guest, Ryan Nihart, Ashley Miltroka, Jeff (Kristie) Nihart, Nicole (Chase) Colley, Jeremy (Jaclyn) Miltroka, Michelle Clipfell, Christopher (Kali) Barnaby, Kyle (Tasha) Krzyske, Carla Krzyske, and Andy Krzyske; great grandchildren Cameron Guest, Journey Miltroka, Olivia Guest, Cora Colley, Logan Barnaby, Jade Miltroka, and Dean Colley; brother David Knisley and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Relatives and friends will be received at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine Monday from 5 to 8PM. Religious services will be held Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Centreville at 1PM with Pastor David Grimm officiating. Interment will be in Constantine Cemetery.
