JoAnn Groth, 75

JoAnn (Frays) Groth, age 75, of Centreville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Centreville near her family and a very loving and caring Fairview staff.

JoAnn was born in the Centreville area and lived there her entire life. She held several jobs, including at Transagram,  The Sturgis Corporation, and Trim-Pac in Three Rivers, before retiring. She was also well known in the area as a prolific Avon Lady. Her interests included raising her children and immersing them in 4-H and equestrian competitions. She was a longstanding member of the Mintdale Women’s Club. She was also a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, attending both Salem Lutheran and St. Paul’s Lutheran, where she was the church organist for 43 years.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her former husbands Richard Broker and Charles Groth, her Father, Karl Frays and her Mother, Frances Frays, as well as her siblings David Frays and Elaine (Frays) Fritz and one child Frank Groth, who died just after birth. She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Hughes of Sturgis and Holly Fryling of Vicksburg and a son, Charles William Groth IV of Twin Falls, Idaho. JoAnn is also survived by her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, of whom she was extremely proud. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Visitation will be held at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville Friday from 5 to 8 PM. Her funeral will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 7 at 11:00 AM, Pastor David Grimm officiating. Interment of Ashes will be at Salem Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Huntington’s Disease Foundation, Michigan Chapter; Fairview Nursing Home; or Southern Care Hospice.
