Kathleen Elaine (Reed) Hollister, age 85, of Bronson, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.
She was born May 20, 1933, the daughter of William Ira and Maurine Ida (Blossom) Reed and lived her life in the Burr Oak and Bronson area.
On November 23, 1951, in Angola, she said “I Do” to Donald Roy Hollister and together they raised their family on the farm.
Kathleen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
A lifelong member of the Burr Oak United Methodist Church, had a love of learning and teaching, was a Den Mother and leader for cub scouts, girl scouts, and 4-H. A graduate of Burr Oak High School, Glen Oaks Community College, and Western Michigan University.
She shared her love of life with all those around her. She enjoyed being part of the Historical Society, Burr Oak Fun Fest, All Schools Reunion, Musicals, a 25 year member of Sweet Adelines, an artiste who loved to paint, draw, and sculpt, and most of all elementary teacher.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Donald; five children: Kristine Clark of Sherwood, Richard (Paula), Randal (Marsha), Julie all of Bronson, Beth (Phillip) of Burr Oak; a brother: Thomas (Donna) Reed; a sister-in-law: Dorothy (Hollister) Keller; brother-in-law: Richard “Dick” Schaeffer; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, brother-in-laws; and her precious infant son: Thomas Lee.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service celebrating the life of Kathleen E. (Reed) Hollister will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak, with Pastor Mike Cary, officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091.
