Two dead in Mottville Township crash

Speed and alcohol are likely factors in a crash that left two Indiana residents dead from a weekend incident in Mottville Township, authorities said.

St. Joseph County Sheriff deputies said Richard Spicher, 32 of Middlebury, and Brittany Wolcott, 30, of Shipshewana, were pronounced dead at the scene. The one-vehicle crash occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 131, between Indian Prairie and Eagley roads.

Investigators said the two were ejected from the backseat of the Dodge pickup in which they were passengers. Deputies said the truck, driven by Allan Mann, 30, of Goshen, left the roadway and rolled over.

Mann and a front-seat passenger, Heather Mann, 32, of Goshen, were taken to Elkhart General Hospital.

U.S. 131 was shut down for several hours, according to authorities.
