Man arrested after fleeing police on motorcycle

A Centreville man was arrested after he attempted to flee on a motorcycle from deputies last weekend in Lockport Township.

Sheriff’s officials said the 40-year-old man and a second motorcyclist were observed speeding around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Mahnke Road, near Darr Road. One of the drivers stopped but the second continued at a high rate of speed eastbound on Mahnke Road, officials said.

The driver eventually pulled into a yard in the 23000 block of River Run Road in Nottawa Township and surrendered.

He was charged with fleeing/eluding police and speeding. A female passenger on the motorcycle was detained and later released.
