Beverly Ann (Bowser) Tepfer, age 75, of White Pigeon, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, Fla.
She was born Oct. 27, 1942, in Battle Creek, the only child of the late Bernard and Beulah (Shaw) Bowser.
Beverly was a longtime resident of White Pigeon and had moved to Florida in May to be closer to her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On March 14, 1980, she married Roger Mack Tepfer in White Pigeon. He died May 10, 2011.
Most of Beverly’s working life was as a secretary and she had been employed several years by Kirsch Company in Sturgis.
She was a member of Gracepoint Baptist Church in Sturgis. Her father owned and operated a bowling alley, a sport in which she participated most of her life and for many years was a league bowler at Sturgis Bowl. She enjoyed volunteering at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis, participating in water aerobics at HealthTRAC in Three Rivers and loved time spent with her family, close circle of cherished friends and her cat, Mary. Mary was a “Mary Christmas” gift from Roger in 2001. She was Beverly’s closest companion after Roger went to be with the Lord and gave her much joy.
She is survived by two daughters, Sherri (Terry) Major of Battle Creek and Cyndi (Todd) Bontrager of Spring Hill, Fla.; three grandchildren, Rachael (Michael) Swan, Hannah (Sean) Gleason and Seth (Lexus) Bontrager, all of Florida; and six great-grandchildren, Evan Swan, Emma Swan, Addison Gleason, Brody Gleason, Elijah Bontrager and Ezekiel Bontrager.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial of the ashes will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. The Rev. Greg Long of Gracepoint Baptist Church will officiate.
Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
