An 11-year-old boy died Saturday at a pool in Cass County’s Howard Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 9 p.m. to the scene of a birthday party at an address on M-51.
The victim was in the pool with several other kids and it was eventually discovered that he was at the bottom of the pool. Authorities said the young man was brought to the surface by other kids before immediately starting CPR and calling 911.
The victim died at Lakeland Hospital in Niles. His name was not released.
