County fair hosts media

The St. Joseph County Grange Fair Board hosted its annual media day Wednesday, affording fair manager Bill Johnson the opportunity to shed light on next week’s annual event that starts Sunday.

Johnson said he is looking forward to a fair without the daily 90-degree heat the annual event experienced a year ago. In addition, Johnson said the 2018 fair will feature a wide selection of attractions for people of all ages.

Nightly grandstand attractions include Diesel Drags on opening night, Blue Water Wrestling Monday, off-road derby and demolition derby Tuesday, bull riding and barrel racing Wednesday, farm truck pulls Thursday, modified tractor and truck pulls Friday and mud runs Saturday.

The fair typically draws about 150,000 guests over the course of its seven-day run.
