St. Joseph County sheriff’s deputies were called to an accident involving an ATV and pickup truck over the holiday weekend in Fabius Township.
The incident occurred at 10:40 a.m. Monday on Arthur L. Jones Road, near the intersection of Corey Lake Road.
A Dodge SUV driven south by a 30-year-old Three Rivers woman was southbound and attempting to pass an all-terrain vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Constantine woman. The ATV driver had been doing farm work in the area and pulled on to the roadway from a nearby field.
As the driver of the SUV began to overtake the ATV, the ATV driver attempted to turn left into a driveway but was struck by the SUV.
The ATV was pushed off the east side of the roadway and its driver was ejected from the vehicle. She and the SUV driver were transported to Three Rivers Health.
Two children in the SUV were uninjured.
