Program helps with back to school

The Kinship Care Program of St. Joseph County recently made back-to-school a little easier for those raising children again.

The program helped several families purchase supplies at Walmart in Sturgis last month.

The Kinship Care Program is a support group for grandparents and other family members who are raising children again. It is supported by funds from the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging and operates in collaboration with Community Mental Health of St. Joseph County.

The Kinship Care support group meets 6 to 8 p.m. the third Thursday of the month at Firm Foundations Ministries in Centreville. Childcare and an evening meal are provided.
