Assistant manager named for road commission

Garrett Myland has been named assistant manager/professional engineer of the St. Joseph County Road Commission.

He will aid managing director John Lindsey.

Newly retired managing director Chris Minger said Lindsey and Myland will be a good combination that put the agency in a great position for the future.

Myland came to the road commission six years ago as an intern in a shared role with Cass County. Most recently, he has been in the shared role of director of engineering in St. Joseph County and systems engineer in Branch County.

He is beginning to work on a chip- seal rotation list, planning chip-seal projects six years in advance so they do not miss any part of the county.
