Gloria Irene Root, age 74, of Marcellus, passed away Thursday morning, October 25, 2018.
Gloria was born on August 27, 1944, in Volinia Township, the daughter of Norman R. and Irene M. (Hull) Root, who precede her in death.
Gloria is survived by one bother: Robert D. (Lois) Root of Niles, one sister: Norma J. Root of Buchanan, and four nieces: Gina (Mike) Cody of Remington, IN, Lisa (Tom) Graffore of Rockford, IL , Karla (Brian) Gallivan of Rockford, IL, and Roberta (Paul) Krous of Luddington, MI, and many great nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by nephew-in-law: Paul Krous.
Gloria finished her education at Marcellus High School and worked over 40 years for Bronson Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw, MI, in food service. She enjoyed playing the saxophone and accordion to gospel music. She had a deep understanding and love for animals, particularly her horse and dog from her childhood.
The family will welcome friends for visitation on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 12:00 PM with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Crane Cemetery. Officiating will be Charles Engler of Calvary Lighthouse in Benton Center, MI. Memorials may be directed to the charity of donor’s choice.
