An investigation into the cause of a fire that killed a Leonidas man over the weekend is continuing.
The blaze was reported at 8 p.m. Saturday in the 31000 block of Depot Street in Leonidas Township. Upon arrival, firefighters found the residence to be fully engulfed in flames.
After the fire was extinguished, crews entered the building and discovered the victim.
Assisting the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department were Leonidas Fire, Mendon Fire, Colon Fire, Athens Fire, Sherwood Fire, Life Care, St. Joseph County Victim Services, WMU Medical Examiner’s Officer and Eickhoff’s Funeral home.
