Woman injured in Constantine crash

A White Pigeon woman suffered serious injuries after the vehicle she was in was struck by an SUV operated by a distracted driver.

Sheriff’s deputies responded at noon Saturday to the intersection of U.S. 131 and North River Road in Constantine Township. Upon further investigation, it was determined that an SUV heading east on North River Road did not stop at the intersection and struck a northbound car driven by the 77-year-old White Pigeon woman.

Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch off U.S. 131.

The SUV was driven by a 28-year-old Bristol, Ind., woman who told authorities she was distracted by her GPS navigation; she was cited for disobeying a stop sign.

Authorities said the White Pigeon woman was treated at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
