County commission to decide labor union contracts

The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners is expected to approve contracts with nine labor unions during its twice-a-month meeting this afternoon.

The agenda for the board’s 5 o’clock meeting shows discussion related to approval of contracts with E-911 Telecommunicators Association; the sheriff’s department’s corrections unit and its law-enforcement division; the Command Officers Association of Michigan; the FOP Labor Council Corrections Sergeants Division; AFSCME general unit, circuit court, friend of the court, family court and probate court employees.

Commissioners will also decide whether to honor a request for employment of a deputy treasurer.

The board meets in the third-floor commissioners’ room in the county courthouse.
