Douglas John Teadt, age 67, of Burr Oak, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at his home.
He was born April 30, 1951, in Colon, a son of the late Clifford L. and Helen Irene (Maystead) Teadt.
Doug was a lifelong Burr Oak resident and a graduate of Burr Oak High School with the class of 1969.
Most of Doug’s working life was in the van conversion industry, working as a mechanic and farming.
He enjoyed watching auto racing and tinkering around the farm and on automobiles and he loved farming.
He is survived by a niece, Lisa (Paul) Bobby of Palatine, Ill.; great-nephews and a niece, Luke Bobby, Brooklynn Bobby and Elijah Bobby, all at home; and a brother-in-law, Richard Spence of Sturgis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Karen Spence.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service and burial of ashes will take place at a later date, to be announced, at Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is entrusted with arrangements.
