Sturgis Schools plan to sell building

Sturgis Public Schools is preparing to sell its Arden Park building.

Members of the district’s board of education last week voted to prepare the property for sale.

Superintendent Art Ebert said the two-room building sits on nearly an acre and a half and that it is used for storage.

Ebert said resources from the potential sale of the building would go toward teaching and learning. He speculated that someone would buy it for a church or perhaps split it into several properties.

The district likely would sell it by owner, he added.
