Three Rivers Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on a charge of strong-armed robbery following an incident over the weekend.
Authorities were called shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday to the 600 block of Millard Street, near South Douglas Avenue. Witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspect, who allegedly assaulted a female teenager and stole cash from her, police said.
He left the scene on foot but his scent was picked up by K9 officer Jake. The scent was tracked for two blocks, to a residence in the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue.
Officers made contact with subjects inside the residence and a person matching the description of the suspect was spotted. The stolen money was subsequently recovered and the suspect taken to a juvenile-holding facility.
