Bank holdup in Bronson

A lone man held up the Bronson branch of PNC bank last week.

The incident occurred about 10 a.m. Friday, according to Bronson Deputy Chief Brad McConn.

The man walked into the West Chicago Street bank, went to a teller and said he had a gun, but did not show one. He demanded money and exited with an undisclosed amount of cash through the front doors.

A K-9 unit was brought in to search the area but did not find a scent to follow. Officers suspect the robber had a getaway vehicle waiting nearby. No one saw where he went or any escape vehicle, however.

Witnesses in the bank and a security photo described the suspect as an African American male, approximately 6 feet in height. He was wearing a grey skullcap, gray hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses. Witnesses estimated his age in his 30s.
