Lilly J. Misner, age 91, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born June 26, 1927 in Colon, a daughter to the late George and Lilly (Thrams) Schellhous.
Lilly was a graduate of Colon High School and resided in Sturgis all of her adult life. On May 10, 1946 she married Lee Monroe Misner. He preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1964.
She had been employed by Harvey Paper Company in Sturgis and continued her employment with them when they sold and moved to Kalamazoo. She also worked at PKG in Sturgis for several years.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going to Las Vegas with her daughter, and visiting Casino’s.
Surviving are one daughter: Sharon (Myron) Schwartz of Sturgis, and one granddaughter: Christina Beverly of Marshall, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers; Lloyd and George Schellhous; 4 sisters: Grace VanWormer, Maxine Schellhous, Mary Cripps, and Jenny Birch.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091 where memorial donations may be directed to help with expenses.
