Man arrested after police chase

A Jones man is in Cass County jail on several charges after his arrest in St. Joseph County.

Sheriff ’s deputies attempted to stop a vehicle and led police on a chase into Indiana, then back into Michigan, where the driver was able to elude authorities. Later in the day, however, authorities located the suspect hiding in a barn near Youngman and Harder roads in Fabius Township.

St. Joseph County Sheriff ’s deputies and SWET South team members were called to assist.

During the course of investigation, police found 30 grams of crystal methamphetamine and packaging material. The suspect was jailed on a warrant and charges from Cass County.

The man also will face additional charges of manufacturing/delivering methamphetamine, deputies said.
