Two people were arrested last week following a break-in at a residence in the 12000 block of Riverside Drive in Constantine Township.
Sheriff’s deputies said the owner, who lives at a different address, drove past the unoccupied home around 4 p.m. Friday. He noticed a porch light had been turned off and when he went inside to investigate, he heard voices and called police.
He then observed a man and woman flee the residence. They continued on Riverside Drive, then through a field until reaching a second home in the 12000 block of Dickenson Road.
They were arrested inside the residence, where officers retrieved the male suspect’s coat and found a handgun in a pocket.
The man was charged with breaking-and-entering, home invasion and felony firearm possession. He also had a warrant out for his arrest. The woman will face charges of breaking- and-entering and she, too, was wanted on an outstanding warrant, authorities said.
