David Marshall, 71

David John Marshall, age 71, of Burr Oak, went to be with the Lord Friday morning, Jan. 25, 2019, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born June 18, 1947, in Latrobe, Pa., a son of the late John Kenneth “Kenny” and Anna Roberta “Bobbie” (Lorenc) Marshall.
David was a graduate of Greater Latrobe Sr. High School and Western PA Hospital School of Radiological Technology. He had been employed by Monsour Medical Center in Jeannette, Pa., St. Joseph Hospital in Huntingburg, Ind., and Sturgis Hospital in Sturgis, where he worked in X-Ray, CT and nuclear medicine.
David was a kind soul who loved helping others. He volunteered as a fireman and rescue in Youngstown, Pa. Later he enjoyed deer hunting with his sons. He also volunteered with St. Joseph County 4-H for 15 years and he and his wife were driving leaders. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, where he enjoyed volunteering at First Promise Pre-School. David and Suzanne found comfort in their faith and participated in the Michigan Pilgrimage 4th Day Community.
David will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Suzanne (Young) Marshall; his children, Colene (Christian) Klanica of Latrobe, Pa., Aaron (Desiree) Marshall of Greensburg, Pa., and Luke Marshall of Burr Oak. David loved spending time with his grandchildren, Carlie and Claire Klanica of Latrobe, Pa., Cameron and Dylan Binda of Greensburg, Pa., Maliyah Marshall of Portage and Drake and Rilee Marshall of Sturgis. He also will be lovingly missed by his sisters, Debbie (John “Doug”) Wollam of Kansas City, Mo., and Denise (Scott “Bud”) McCurdy of Cornelius, N.C., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of David John Marshall will be held at a later date to be announced at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.
Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
