A Niles man died on icy roads earlier this week in Cass County’s Milton Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called to a three-car accident shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 12 near Frantz Drive.
Investigators said Ryon Koth, a 31-year-old Niles resident, was driving east on U.S. 12 when he lost control of his vehicle. It crossed into oncoming traffic and was struck by a westbound car driven by 35-year-old Niles resident Samantha Meyer. Her car was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Victoria Mallard, 26, of South Bend.
Koth and Mallard were transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital. Meyer was not injured.
A passenger in Koth’s vehicle, Joseph Johnson, 52, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
