Manford O. Leeth, 92, of Sturgis, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at the Cambrian Assisted Living in Tecumseh, Mich., following a short illness.
He was born Sept. 23, 1926, in Sturgis, the son of Jesse and Josephine (Thompson) Leeth.
He was a resident of Sturgis and White Pigeon most of his life and was employed as an offset print operator for Newport Business Forms and press operators for Gray Brothers and Owens Illinois. He was a member of the White Pigeon United Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion for more than 70 years, a State Grange member, Sturgis Grange member, Pomona Grange member, fair board member, Boy Scout Leader of Troops #419, a veteran of the U.S. Army as a MP and a driver for Meals on Wheels.
On Aug. 31, 1947, he married Irene H. Bottomley in White Pigeon. She died Feb. 10, 1998 He married Phyllis Pawson on June 5, 1999. She died Dec. 29, 2018.
Surviving are two sons, Donald L. (Sharon) Leeth of Sturgis and Paul W. (Connie) Leeth of Sherwood; grandchildren Melissa, Benjamin and Jesse; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon where services will be at 2 p.m., with interment of cremains in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
Donations may be directed to the Legacy Fund of the St. Joseph County fairgrounds.
