Some families with students at Mendon Elementary School received good news just before the district went on its winter break in December.
District officials said someone who was described as a Secret Santa paid off every delinquent lunch account at the school.
The gesture by the anonymous person wiped out $798 in collective lunchroom debt.
District officials said because of the Secret Santa’s generosity, all Mendon Elementary students started the new year with a zero balance on their lunch accounts.
