Cathy “Katie” Brinkley, 78, of Jackson, and formerly of Ypsilanti, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at home.
She was born Sept. 10, 1940, in Burr Oak, a daughter of Leo V. and Elizabeth (Nusbaum) Currier. Katie was a member of Metro Baptist Church in Belleville and formerly was a member of United Missionary Church in Burr Oak. She worked for Chrysler Corporation for 20 years, retiring in 1992. Katie loved all of her family and loved to take care of them.
Survivors include a daughter, Christine (Michael) Mowrer of Jackson; a son, Robert (Tracy) Brinkley of Grass Lake; four grandchildren, Julie, Catherine, Rolland and Francis; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Jerry) Cronkhite of Burr Oak and Elvina Williamson of Indiana; three brothers, Bill (Gaye) Currier and Sam (Cookie) Currier, both of Burr Oak, and Paul Currier of Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, John.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at United Missionary Church, 327 N. Third St., Burr Oak, with Pastor Doug Currier officiating. Burial will follow in Nottawa Cemetery.
