The name of a Centreville man who died last week in an accident on a snow-covered freeway in Kalamazoo County has been released by authorities.
Portage police said Richard Lee Gamble, 46, died Friday from injuries he suffered in a crash around noon on eastbound I-94. Investigators said Gamble lost control of his pickup after attempting to change lanes near the Westnedge Avenue exit ramp.
Gamble’s Ford F-250 struck a guardrail and he was ejected from his vehicle, according to investigators, who noted Gamble was not wearing a seatbelt.
A 34-year-old passenger, a woman from Three Rivers, was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. She was not identified in a department media release issued Monday.
