Three people were arrested Friday on drug-related offenses following a traffic stop in Sturgis.
According to a department media release, Sturgis officers stopped a vehicle at 11 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Chicago Road for an unspecified violation.
During the subsequent interview with the driver and passenger, officers became suspicions to the potential for narcotics inside the vehicle. K-9 officer Tucky was brought to the scene and responded in a manner consistent with detecting the presence of narcotics.
The driver, a 29-year-old Sturgis man, was charged with false identification to authorities, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hallucinogens, according to authorities.
The passenger, a 22-year-old Sturgis woman, was charged with possession of meth and was wanted on a warrant from LaGrange County for possession of drugs.
A 29-year-old passenger from LaGrange was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
