Timothy Charles Wooten, age 38, of Sturgis, lost his battle with life Monday morning, Feb. 25, 2019.
He was born March 27, 1980, in Circleville, Ohio, a son of Charles “Pete” and Sandra (Stahl) Wooten.
Tim resided most of his life in Sturgis and was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1998. He furthered his education at Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, earning an associate degree in business.
On May 21, 2011, he married the love of his life, Katie Jean Elliott.
Since 2000, Tim had been employed by Farm Bureau Insurance in Sturgis and he also worked at Kirsch Company in Sturgis.
He attended Riverside Church in Three Rivers.
Some of Tim’s favorite activities were deer and rabbit hunting and spearing with his brothers. He also enjoyed playing racquetball, weightlifting and four-wheeling. Tim had hobbies and interests, but what he truly loved were the many special projects and activities with his children.
He is survived by his wife, Katie; two sons, Chance Ethan Wooten and Gabriel Michael Wooten, both at home; more than 15 foster children who he poured his love into; his parents, Charles “Pete” and Sandra Wooten of Sturgis; two brothers, Michael Wooten and Andrew (Chastity) Wooten, both of Sturgis; nephews Wyatt and Gabe Wooten and nieces Aubrey and Kaylee Wooten, all of Sturgis; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Charles Allen Wooten; and grandparents Charles E. and Georgia Wooten and Otis and Avis Stahl.
Tim’s love of life and family will be cherished by all who knew him.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis. A memorial service celebrating the life of Timothy C. Wooten will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Rodger Moyer will officiate. Graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
