United Way sets fundraising record

St. Joseph County United Way’s Campaign 2019 set a new record in its 20-year history.

For the second consecutive year, the Centreville-based agency exceeded the $1 million threshold. Amid plenty of fanfare at the annual “Celebration Event” at Rouch World, United Way announced the campaign raised $1,058,947.

The total surpasses last year’s amount by more than $24,000.

This year’s top campaign contributor was Morgan Olson, at $166,143.

Representatives from several of United Way’s 39 funded agencies attended the event. In addition, Colon residents Tadd and Debbie Davis, and their children, Tucker, Tanner and Harper, were named 2020 co-chairs.
