Clara C. Miller, age 95, of Middlebury, died at 10:28 a.m., on Sunday, March 31 at Waterford Crossing Health Center, after a brief illness. She was born on Sept. 12, 1923, in Mark Center, Ohio, to Mose B. and Amanda (Miller) Shrock.
On Dec. 9, 1943 in Hicksville, Ohio, she married Edward C. Miller; he died March 21, 2010. Surviving are daughter, Amanda Casselman of Middlebury; three sons, Henry (Martha) Miller, Glenn (Wilma) Miller, Eugene (Tena) Miller all of Constantine; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Lengacher of Hicksville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Sherman, Mose, and Owen Shrock; two sisters, Della Miller and Elizabeth Beachy.
She was a member of Griner Church where she was very active in the sewing circle and taught Sunday School. She loved to quilt and had made one quilt for each of her grandchildren and over 100 quilts including many for the Michiana Relief Sale. She also enjoyed flower gardening and volunteering at World Missionary Press.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3 and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service on Thursday, April 4 at Griner Church, 12418 CR 20, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor Robert Riegsecker. Burial will be in Griner Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Griner Church for Mission Projects.
