The St. Joseph County Intermediate School District board recently approved putting a 1-mill request for Career and Technical Education programs on the ballot.
By voting in November, St. Joseph County residents will decide whether to support the request, which, if approved, will benefit the county’s high school students.
The tax dollars would not be for a facility, but to enhance current classes, add more classes and options, create more work-based learning opportunities, grow Career Prep and reduce financial pressure on local school districts, according to ISD Superintendent Teresa Belote.
