Man arrested after fleeing police

A 33-year-old White Pigeon man was arrested recently after a pursuit originating in White Pigeon.

Christopher Lee Wooster faces charges of resisting a police officer, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

White Pigeon police attempted to stop Wooster on his motorcycle for a traffic violation around 12:20 a.m. April 19. According to police, Wooster fled at a high speed.

The 12-mile pursuit ended in LaGrange County, where Wooster abandoned the motorcycle and fled through a swamp. He was arrested a short time later.

He will face additional charges in St. Joseph County of fleeing and eluding, possession of methamphetamine, resisting and obstructing a police officer, and registration-plate fraud.

Police said Wooster was driving on a suspended license and the motorcycle had an improper plate.
