A 33-year-old Sturgis man was arrested last week after officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute.
Sturgis officers were called shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday to a residence in the 400 block of North Nottawa Street. Upon arrival, they noticed a man and a woman arguing.
Officers eventually learned that the woman, whose age was not indicated in a department media release, was the victim of an assault.
The suspect was charged with domestic assault by strangulation, according to authorities.
