A Sturgis man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested earlier this week in a residential area of the city.
According to a police-issued media release, officers on patrol at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of West Congress Street made contact with a person on foot. The 27-year-old man was known to authorities, who were aware of an active warrant issued for his arrest.
Following a brief foot pursuit, the man was apprehended and charged with resisting and obstructing, police said.
