US 131 project update

Here’s an update on the U.S. 131 project that started Monday in Three Rivers.

Through the end of the week, northbound and southbound traffic will see single-lane closures and construction will begin on the existing median curb lane islands. These will be removed and replaced with temporary paving.

Signal work will begin at M-60 and U.S. 131, while tree removal and clearing will begin at the south end of the intersection.

In addition, crews will be continuing utility work on outside shoulders.

Next week, MDOT expects single-lane closures in both directions as construction will begin on the existing median curb lane islands and temporary widenings on the outside lanes.

They will be removed and replaced with temporary paving.

Also, signal work will continue at M-60 and U.S. 131, where tree removal and clearing will continue.

MDOT officials said work may begin on median traffic crossover north of the Rocky River Bridge and crews will continue utility work on outside shoulders.
