Charges against a 27-year-old Shipshewana woman are pending following a two-vehicle accident last week in Burr Oak Township.
Deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department were called shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday to the intersection of M-66 and Findley Road.
Investigators said the Indiana woman was driving east on Findlay Road and disregarded a stop sign at the intersection. Her vehicle struck a car being driven northbound by Raymond Schlabach, 72, of Centreville.
Schlabach and his passenger, 70-year-old Verna Schlabach, suffered injuries and were transported to Sturgis Hospital.
The at-fault driver was treated at the scene and released. Deputies said possible criminal charges will be submitted to the prosecutor’s office.
