Nottawa Township officials have agreed to cover their share of costs related to improving Londick Road.
Township supervisor Dave Peterson said the matter was discussed late into Monday’s meeting, where the township’s financial picture was reviewed in advance of the start of its 2019-20 fiscal year July 1.
Peterson said the township will use funds from each of its next two fiscal years to come up with approximately $45,000 to satisfy parameters of a 50/50 split of expenses with the St. Joseph County Road Commission.
The state of Londick Road was discussed with road commission managing director John Lindsey for more than an hour at the onset of the meeting.
Peterson on Tuesday said the board did the best it could to come up with a responsible solution that will eventually see the western 1 1/4 miles of the 2.13-mile roadway improved.
