Shirley M. Sharp, age 90, of Vicksburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 14, 2019 with her family at her side. She was born in Schoolcraft on July 17, 1928 the daughter of Lawrence and Alice (Downey) Beebe. She was one of eight children and had many wonderful stories to share about growing up in such a big family. Shirley worked at Sutherland Paper Company and also at Vicksburg Schools as a cook. She retired after working many years at Stewart Sutherland Bag Company.
Shirley was married to Quincy Sharp on Jan. 28, 1950, and together they farmed and raised three boys, Eddie (Dee Chriscoe) Sharp, Craig Sharp, and Jeff Sharp. She was blessed with eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Carl (Irene) Beebe and Ronald “Gus” (Mary) Beebe, and by her best friend, Sarah Evans. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Quincy; and by five siblings.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home of Mendon. Memorial services will begin at 5 pm Thursday at the funeral home. A private interment will take place later. It is suggested that memorial donations be directed to either Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan (hospiceswmi.org) , or to Advanced Illness Management (AIM) at Bronson Methodist Hospital (bronsonhealth.com).
